PHV (Private Hire Vehicle)
A Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) is a licensed non-black-cab passenger vehicle used for pre-booked hire.
PHV cars have licence-authority inspection requirements on top of MOT. Garages that support PHV usually maintain a licenced-inspection service alongside the MOT.
